AFW

About AFW

A Washington home for queer Asian connection.

Since 1984, Asians & Friends Washington has helped LGBTQ+ Asians and friends find friendship, cultural belonging, and community continuity in the DMV.

Mission

Connection across culture, identity, and generation.

AFW exists to connect LGBTQ+ Asians and friends through social gatherings, cultural exchange, wellness, and meaningful support. The organization began with a simple and enduring purpose: helping Asian and non-Asian LGBTQ+ people better understand one another and build friendship.

History

AFW's public history reaches back to 1984, with longtime traditions including happy hours, potluck dinners, movie nights, and regional friendship.
